Uncovering hidden challenges in workplace recognition
Culture Cloud Initiatives, O.C. Tanner’s tool for purpose-driven recognition, needed to improve its market traction. Our mission? Figure out how to make it irresistible to clients and encourage migration from our legacy platform.
I worked closely with my product manager and engineering lead to craft clickable prototypes for stakeholder feedback sessions. These prototypes, built using our design system, allowed us to rapidly iterate and validate our ideas.
Balancing empowerment and control
Our research unveiled a tightrope walk for companies: they craved leader empowerment but feared misuse. To address this, we brainstormed enhanced reporting features and granular permission controls. I designed interfaces that would allow admins to keep a watchful eye without stifling creativity.
Cracking the billing code conundrum
Things got complicated when we tackled billing. Our existing cost code solution was helpful, but it stumbled when faced with non-standard spending from individual leaders. We put our heads together to reimagine a centralized billing model that could flex with discretionary budgets. I created mockups of potential billing interfaces to help visualize these complex scenarios.
While we didn’t cross the finish line with polished product updates, our discoveries resonated deeply with stakeholders and clients alike. We laid the groundwork for future enhancements, paving the way for increased market traction and smoother migrations.
